Today is a special day for Dhaka Medical College. The Department of Critical Care Medicine of the college is like a newly born.
Infection is a very important issue in ICU patients. If this cannot be prevented, the death of the patient is inevitable. For knowing about infection prevention before it occurs is essential knowledge for every health care workforce. Keeping that in mind, the first seminar on “Infection Prevention & Control in Critical Care Setup” was organized in collaboration with Department of Critical Care Medicine and ICDDRB today at Dhaka Medical College Training Hall.Dr. Asadul Gani (Head of Biosafety &BCL of 3 Laboratory, ICDDRB) was the resource person in this lively seminar.Dr Kamaluddin,Register( Dept of Critical Care Medicine) was anchoring the session.


In the said seminar, Associate Professor and Vice President of BSCCM Dr. AKM Ferdous Rahman, Associate Professor and Joint Secretary of BSCCM Dr. Mohammad Salim, Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Habibullah, Dr. Sardar Mohammad Tanvir, Registrar Dr. Shamim, Dr. Kamal, Assistant Registrar Dr. Fateh Tarek along with resident doctors of Medical ICU and General ICU, other training doctors and nurses were present.

Dhaka Medical College Vice-Principal Professor Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Principal Professor Dr. Kamrul Alam and Hospital Director Brig. General Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sir were present and made the seminar successful and gave various directions through their valuable speeches. In separate speeches, they congratulated the progress of the newly Created Critical Care Medicine Department and assured sincerer cooperation in all fields.
Dr. AKM Ferdous Rahman, Head of the Department of Critical Care Medicine, has greeted everyone by reminding everyone of the sincerity and support given to Critical Care Medicine and critical patients at various times.

Dr. Shuvo, Dr. Pammi along with ICDDRB team and Dr. Fateh Tarek (CCM, Dhaka Medical College), Dr. Shamim, Dr. Masud Kabir Hero, Dr. Kafi, Dr. Saurabh, Dr. Sarwar, Dr. Imdad, Dr. Rimpi, Dr.Rasel has lively participation and hearty applause of ICU Nurse In-charge Morsheda, Sania, Nahida and ICU Ward boys made the program success. Also, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the new trainees. They pledge to keep their institutions infection-free in the future.
